WHAT IS A SCREENING EVENT?

In a screening event, the audience (your members, patrons, students) watch the film and then there is a program afterwards. The film can be made available either remotely (for a specified, mutually agreed-upon period – often a week or 10 days) or live, in-person. The remainder of the  program can vary from a Q&A with the filmmaker to a panel discussion to a demonstration…and almost anything in between.

A SCREENING EVENT INCLUDES:
 — a 10-30 min. selection from documentary OR as appropriate, a feature-length film (over one hour) – (your choice of duration).

 — Q&A with the filmmaker (often Zoom) OR panel presentation (can include someone from your organization)

 — Classroom supplements with sample discussion questions

 —  Postcards and a poster as digital downloads

Pricing is scaled to the type and size of your institution.  For further specifics or to schedule a screening event, please contact us at info@african-diaspora-films.com

FEEDBACK FROM HOSTING ORGANIZATIONS

…Q&A, in Jerez de la Frontera, SPAIN…

Thank you for sharing your documentary … with our guests. It was eye-opening to learn about the long roots of the African Diaspora. There was an Afro-Peruvian performance in LA a few years ago, but it did not offer the depth of history your film did….

We … co-produc[ed] an event [with Eve A. Ma] that included … screening … Masters of Rhythm and a live music demonstration ….

…. The audience reacted very positively … and we even extended the official end time ….

Bianca Torres, co-director
La Peña Cultural Center
Berkeley, California, USA

….The more than ample public that attended the screening (and later Q&A)…gave positive validation for your important work….

…[T]he performers….seemed to jump off the screen and create a feeling of…entertainment & community you …only expect…from live performance.
